FuelFinderLive operates fuelfinderlive.co.uk, a free service displaying real-time UK fuel prices sourced from the Gov.UK Fuel Finder API. For UK data protection law purposes, FuelFinderLive is the data controller.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

FuelFinderLive requires no account. The core service — searching by postcode, GPS, or town — is entirely anonymous.

2.2 Automatically Collected Data

Our web server automatically collects: IP address (aggregate security/analytics only), browser type, pages visited, referrer URL, and visit timestamps. This data is never linked to personal identity.

2.3 Location Data

If you use "Use My Location", your browser requests your device location to show nearby stations. This is not stored on our servers or transmitted to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Data

4. Data Sources

Fuel prices come from the Gov.UK Fuel Finder API (Pumpwatch scheme). Postcode data comes from Postcodes.io and OpenStreetMap Nominatim. No personal information beyond your search query is transmitted to these services.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be shared with our hosting provider (IONOS) as part of infrastructure operations, or if required by law.

6. Data Retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security, then automatically deleted. Analytics data is retained in aggregate, anonymised form.

7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have rights of access, erasure, rectification, restriction, objection, and portability. Because we collect no personal identifiers in normal use, most rights will not be applicable in practice. Contact us at privacy@fuelfinderlive.co.uk to exercise any right.

8. Children's Privacy

FuelFinderLive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
